Computer attacks have gotten more common as time has gone by. How do you recognize that your systems have been attacked and how do you respond?

Topic 1: Malware

What would you do if you suspected malware on an organizational computer? Please use outside research to back up what you say and be sure to cite your sources. Different ways I recognize that my system has been attacked is when my computer speed has slowed down significantly, my computer software has disabled or compromise, software or browser add-ons have appear that I don’t recognize, additional pop ups are appearing, random shutdowns and restarts are occurring and I’ve lost access to my account.
How I respond if my system has been attacked is I immediately change my password if I can, update my recovery contact information, advise my email contacts so they know to question suspicious emails, change my security questions, configure my email settings, any other accounts with passwords should be updated, enable multifactor authentication, perform a security scan for malware, call my financial institution and freeze your accounts, communicate your team and keep them in the loop, and restore from a back up.
If I suspect malware, I should back up my files, run a Microsoft defender offline scan, disconnect from the internet, boot in safe mode close suspicious applications, try to identify actual malware and search for fixes, scan with multiple program units until no infection found, clear temporary file and browser cache, fix post malware removal problems and change your passwords.
