System Development Life Cycle The Covid-19 pandemic has necessitated that your organization leverage digital technologies. This adoption of digital technologies at scale has facilitated work from home for employees and improved workflow in the organization. Capitalizing on these gains the CEO sees an opportunity to build for the future and has created a task force that will focus on transforming business processes digitally in the organization. This is a major initiative that will have long lasting implications on the organization. You, in the role of a system analyst, have been selected as a member of the task force.

In preparing for the first meeting of the task force you realize the importance of setting the tone for this key project. A key challenge you foresee is the system development approach your organization should use for this project as there are multiple options that can be used for transforming business processes digitally in the organization.

Note: Answers to this question may be written in the context of the organization you work for or worked for at some point in time. For those students who do not currently work assume the organization is a small and medium sized organization (manufacturing or service or educational).

1. Specify which type of organization you are using for this assignment and a brief description of this organization. (150 words)

2. How would you convince task force members (who are non-technical process-oriented business managers) to use Agile rather than traditional system development approaches for the digital transformation? Identify three key arguments with justification for these arguments. (450 words) 1

System development
The emergence of covid-19 has been a serious life-changing experience for people everywhere across the entire globe. It has affected the lives of people in so many ways and is a major threat to human life. Being a respiratory disease, the contraction of this disease is a serious scare for people (Kumar et al 2020). The disease is easily spread through the air and direct contact with an infected individual, it has presented itself in different types and this has made containing it a serious challenge. Organizations have been forced to lay off their employees due to decreased business activities and deteriorated economic conditions, the few vital employees of these same firms have had to relocate to working from their homes, this is a step to reduce congestion in the offices hence curb the spread of the deadly disease that has claimed very many lives.
The organization I work for as a system analyst is a small developing firm that focuses on service delivery as it deals with general auditing works seeks to develop a working system that will enable the organization to deliver the services appropriately and in time while at the same time focusing on customer satisfaction which in turn leads to high profits for the firm. The firm has opted to let the employees work from the comfort of their homes while only a few are allowed into the business premises at a time. The organization seeks to develop a transformation system that will help the business facilitate the employees to work from home while at the same time they can be supervised remotely by the management (Loonam et al 2018). This kind of system requires serious scrutiny to ensure the best what? is adopted. This system needs to be economical and dependable upon to help deliver positive results. The results of this kind of system should have positive and long-term benefits to the firm in terms of service delivery to the customers of the business. Also, the system developed should be simple and economical to not drain the finances of the organization.
The most appropriate design I would advise the firm to pick for use is the user-centered design. In this case, the user has complete access and control to the system that he or she is using (Loonam et al 2018). These controls include: log in and out details, passcode change authority, and direct service delivery to the customers. This kind of system will enable the employee to get in direct communication with the clients while at the same time be able to reach the employer using the same system. This will be very economical and very simple to use as it only requires little orientation on the user so that the user is well equipped with the necessary knowledge to do their daily activities. The system will enable the employer to take records and monitor the service delivery of all the employees and this will make it very simple for the management of the firm to act appropriately depending on the service delivery of every person in the organization.
In the process of convincing the rest of the task force on the most appropriate technique to pick, it will be very important to explain to them the cost matters, the efficiency of the desired system, and explain the key factors in the system. The firm mustn’t pick a very complicated and expensive model to use. It was also very important the task force understands the importance of using an agile system development system than a traditional system development technique. Agile system development is a more superior and sophisticated method in system development. Based on what? The system development process is one that requires keenness and a lot of input is required to help come up with the best. In the traditional method the system may fail to work appropriately this becomes a serious challenge hence the reason for advice to pick the agile system development technique. Also, the system is easy development and takes a shorter time to build.
Part B of the assignment required you to identify three arguments and then justify the arguments. In the last paragraph you identify three factors though the follow up arguments for the three are missing. For example, cost is one argument you identify. I agree though you don’t provide any insights on why Agile will be less costly in this organization. Similarly, for the other factors the justification is not provided.
