Resume, Cover Letter Career Exploration Project
All students taking SLS 1106 courses are required to complete a Career Exploration Project as a culmination of the course. Please follow the instructions below as there are two components that you must submit:
In order to complete this final project you will need to conduct research regarding jobs or careers in the field of your choice. For instance, your major is Communications. You would then search for jobs and careers in the field of Communications and figure out the type of requirements and skills needed for that field. Some Communications related careers would be public relations, social media, marketing, journalism, etc. Thus, the job titles could be public relations account executive, social media manager, marketing director, or news reporter.
Create a resume following the guidance from your McGraw-Hill text and online examples.
Draft a cover letter for a job listing that you would like to apply for in the field of your choice. Follow the guidance from your McGraw-Hill text and online examples.
Lastly, submit your Career Exploration Project within Blackboard in the appropriate assignment area listed in the sidebar.
